What Is Third Person in Garry’s Mod?

The third-person in video games is referring to the camera view that is used while playing. For example, in the first person, you can only see what’s in front of you as if it were through your own eyes. However, in the third person, the camera is more zoomed out and shows you what’s around you rather than just showing you the direction your facing. Third-person is useful in many ways since it gives you more viewing area!

How to Go Into the Third Person in Garry’s Mod

1. First, you’ll need to enable the console. Head to Options in the main menu and then to Advanced options, where you’ll checkmark the box to enable the console.
2. Next, you’ll need the power to use console commands. That means you have to be in a server where you have administrator powers. You can start your GMod server hosting services here at Iceline Hosting.
3. Hit the tilde on your keyboard (~) to bring up the console. You’ll then see a prompt, where you can type “sv_cheats 1” and then “thirdperson.” If your server has cheats enabled, you can just type in “thirdperson.”

The problem is that on most servers you won’t be able to do this because you have to have admin permissions and you need (sv_cheats) enabled. Therefore, you will need your own Garry’s Mod server or be in a local hosting environment.
